The Dia-Logos Prayer by The Green Paintbrush
The Dia-Logos Prayer by The Green Paintbrush
Lord, love the Other through me.
Let me love the Other through You.
And be loved by You through the Other.
This illustrated prayer came about when a counselor, Fr. Sean Levine, asked Marian Adams (aka The Green Paintbrush) to render this prayer artistically, being sure to include an image of Holy Communion. “I want the prayer to take a prominent place in my counseling office so I might constantly remember what exactly it is that I am doing and Who I am encountering when serving people as priest, pastoral counselor, and psychotherapist.”
Fr. Stephen Muse explains, "The Eucharistic reciprocity central to the meaning of dia-Logos understands the “other" to include spouse, client, parishioner or even enemy— all these have their fulfillment beyond intersubjectivity and the digital surface of experience. The dia-Logos Prayer orients us toward the profound and deeply transformative personal encounters in, through and from Christ the Logos Who is 'the Way, the Truth and the Life ever in our midst!'"
Marian was honored to attempt to capture this message visually. This prayer is originally by Fr. Stephen Muse and is used with his permission. Each print will come with an explanation of the prayer and intent, written by Fr. Sean Levine.
