Lent Calendar
Lent Calendar
Please note that the finished calendars are slightly discounted due to a flaw in the fabric that makes the edges of the calendar a little rough. Most people probably wouldn’t even notice anything wrong, but it’s not up to our standards, thusly the discount!
Mark your journey through Great Lent with a candle that moves from day to day (pocket to pocket) as we progress towards the Feast of Feasts— P A S C H A!
-Each Sunday is marked by an illustration reminding us of what is being celebrated on that day (for instance, Sunday of the Cross, St Mary of Egypt, etc), and each row is one week of Lent.
-Wednesdays are marked with candles to remind us of presanctified liturgy, offered that day.
-Holy Week is the final row, with illustrations reminding us of the focus of each day.
-During Lent, the prayer of St Ephrem is displayed at the bottom, and when we reach Pascha we can uncover the icon of the Resurrection, proclaiming “Christ is Risen!” “Indeed He is Risen!”
-The icon of the Annunciation is moveable, so you can place it on the correct day each year. The fleece adheres to itself, so you can just press it in place and then remove it when needed.
-This calendar is 18”x27.5” (the same size as the large advent calendar that we make), and the complete DIY kit includes half a yard of fabric (all the pieces of the calendar), instructions, and a popsicle stick to glue the candle to. You can use a rotary cutter or scissors to cut the fabric, and you can put it together with a sewing machine, sewing by hand, or you can use fabric glue. You will also need a dowel or thin straight stick to hang it on.
-Finished calendars are sewn by Orthodox seamstresses, and are VERY limited in quantity. If there are none available and you would like to be added to our waitlist, please e-mail us at hello@drawneardesigns.com.
